The trail was naked but its walls were green. The ground had been touched by many feet, but the dirt covered the prints and made it feel like new. There were vines and behind the trees laid soft symphonies led by the swaying of branches and leaves. If you stayed still for long enough you could see the end of your day within the trail that awaited you. I walked into a few memories and felt the nostalgia brush my shoulders while the future pushed my back, impatiently. The day was smiling, but my feet got lost and shortly after that my eyes did too. The ground kept changing with every move I made, and now when I looked forward everything seemed vague. Still, my legs didn’t pause and with curiousness fueling my soul I walked towards the unknown with hope that I’d step into a world worth discovering. Branches were cracked and leaves were bruised, but finally I caught a glimpse of something utopian. The sun heated my skin more-so than ever before and in the corner of its beauty I spotted a house with only glass covering it, as if it wanted its secrets to be revealed. I looked down to see dirt and mud keeping it hostage, and when I looked around I saw a jungle full of only green and flowers. The setting could’ve made any dream jealous. Even though I was yards away from the house, I felt a connection between us. It whispered to me, “look”. I did just that..
A man appeared. The sun peaking in through the glass complimented his tan figure and he walked towards the front of the house with only a pair of old jeans. It was so cinematic and the sun showed me every inch of him. I could see the outline of his abs and if I would’ve stood an inch closer I think I would’ve smelt the sweat that looked like honey dripping down his chest. His eyes turned right to welcome a naked woman following him, so relaxed like she knew he’d never go too far from her. She was equally as tan and divine, but her long starless hair was the only thing that seemed clear. Her silhouette disappeared, and my eyes noticed the man opening his front door. His jeans faded more than they blued, and his eyes were hidden by the shadows of the sun but they looked right at me. Disturbed by the company of a stranger he asked me if I was lost, and I closed my eyes to assure them this was real life and not just an hallucination. I yelled back, letting him know I was just exploring this trail and lost myself along the way. He smirked and told me that beauty was waiting for me a mile back and to my right. I waved, goodbye slowly and even managed to stay waving while I passed his red beat up Jeep. That was the last part of the setting that I took in. I felt that if love looked like something it had to look like that. Contentment filled the air that couple inhaled. Contentment with only the company of one another and occasionally the world surrounding them. Leaving the day dream, I looked forward to what else I’d find in the unknown but maybe next time the unknown would have a color of eyes.
